PhD Graduate Programs
Graduate Program in Molecular Biosciences Molecular Biosciences is an umbrella group of five graduate programs in the life sciences at the Graduate School-New Brunswick of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) Piscataway Campus. Students are free to carry out their PhD research with any faculty member in any of the five associated programs at Rutgers. Research opportunities in more than 200 laboratories and competitive stipends are available. This program is for students interested in pursuing a PhD in the molecular biosciences, including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, developmental biology, and genetics. Students should apply to directly Program in Molecular Biosciences for admission. All of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry faculty are members in the Molecular Bioscience Program.
MS Graduate Programs
Students interested in pursuing a terminal MS degree in the molecular biosciences should apply directly to the Graduate Program in Cell & Developmental Biology or the Graduate Program in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Many of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry faculty belong to both of these programs.
